This may be as he may not have to prove that he is dangerous and a world class rapper as he knows it, which can be seen as with his previous music which sold million times. The overall design reflects on the artist and band as he looks confident as if he would be preparing for something similar, if not a bit vulnerable.

How does it reflect on the artist/band and the genre?.

This may appeal to the target audience as they know that Eminem is one of the best rappers in the world as he had double platinum selling records, and know that his album will be great and will want to have it.

The target audience could see this as if Eminem brought out a very serious album as he looks very confident or as if he would be praying, maybe that this album will be a hit again. This looks like Eminem would be sitting there before or after a show. The overall graphic and visual theme of this album cover is Eminem sitting on a stage by himself with the curtains partially open and lighting on the microphone and on Eminem.
